The Livermore Phantom Lacrosse Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2005. Our mission is to promote and develop the sport of lacrosse, instilling in our players the knowledge of the rules and skills of lacrosse, and the qualities of sportsmanship, teamwork and respect.

New in 2019: Livermore Phantom Lacrosse is launching a Girl's Program with the goal of fielding one or more girls teams for the Spring 2020 Season. So girls are encouraged to come join us for the Fall Tune Up clinics and help us build this exciting new program in Livermore!

All programs except the New Player Clinic require a valid US Lacrosse membership. The annual USL membership cost is $30. During the registration process for Phantom Lacrosse you will be given instructions on how to obtain a USL membership at uslacrosse.org.

The following lacrosse equipment is required for all programs unless otherwise specified in the program description.

  • Lacrosse stick
  • Black lacrosse helmet with purple visor and purple chin piece (boys, optional for girls)
  • Protective goggles (girls, if no helmet)
  • Protective pads: shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, rib pads (boys only)
  • Athletic cup (boys only)
  • Mouth guard (cannot be clear or white)
  • Cleats or turf shoes (recommended)

Uniform cost is not included in the Spring registration fee. Uniform packages are about $75 and can typically be worn for multiple seasons.

Team Targets for Spring 2020 Season: We expect to have two teams at each age group for the boys and we are hoping to field at least one team in each age group for the Girl's Program (pending interest). It is important to register early to ensure a slot on a team - stay tuned for announcements. Registration will open on October 5, 2019 and continue through early December when we have to provide the league with our team rosters. Please note that although we will do our absolute best to make room so everyone who wants to play can, late registrants may be wait-listed and we will need to meet a team minimum before those wait-listed can be assigned to a team. Again, we strongly suggest that you register early to secure your player's spot on a team.

Schedule: Spring practices start mid-January and games are played from late February through early-May. Practices are typically two days per week after games begin with additional Saturday practices before the first game of the season. Games are primarily on weekends and there may be a weekend where the kid's will play a double header. There may also be a Friday evening game on occasion. Games are played both in Livermore (Cayetano Park) as well as other cities.

Player safety: We participate in the highly regarded ImPACT concussion management program. Our coaches are all trained in first aid and CPR and we have AED devices at every game.

Sign Ups: See below for current open registrations, and be sure to join our mailing list for updated information.

A note about registration fees: As a non-profit organization, all registration fees are all applied directly to running the program and coaches and the board are all volunteers. Livermore Phantom Lacrosse expenses include the following:

  • Field costs: This is by far are largest cost here in Livermore. We play and mostly practice on turf fields to avoid rain-outs and we require lights for evening practices, but Livermore is lucky to have high-quality turf fields that attract other teams to want to play us here at home. Current LARPD rate for turf fields is approximately $60-100/hr depending on lighting.
  • NCJLA league fees: There is a per-team registration charge plus referee fees (no refs for 8U games).
  • Equipment and Supplies: Balls, goals, nets, cones, first-aid supplies, etc.
  • Program Administration Costs: Bank fees, web hosting charges, advertising, etc.

2019 New Player Clinic (Boys and Girls)

Dates: Sunday Sept 22 & Sept 29

Time: 12:00 - 2:00 PM (Check-in 11:30AM)
Place: Max Baer Park
Cost:   $65.00 (Includes stick and ball to keep - a $75 value!)

Open to players of all ages from K-8.

**We will have both boys and girls lacrosse clinics this Fall!**

The New Player Clinics are designed to familiarize kids and parents with the Boys and Girls games of lacrosse. There will be hands-on activities focused on basic skills and no previous lacrosse experience is necessary. In fact, we expect and encourage kids to use this opportunity to come out and pick up a stick and ball for the first time in a friendly and fun environment surrounded by kids of similar ages that are also excited to learn to play lacrosse!

New this year we will be having a Girls Lacrosse Clinic at the same location and time as the Boys (Note: Boys and Girls will practice separately) with local women coaches and training plans specific to the girl's game of lacrosse. Our goal is to field one or more Phantom Girls Teams in the 2020 season for the first time in many years based on considerable demand, and we're expecting to have a GREAT turnout of girls at the New Player Clinics. Have your girl bring some friends, there's no long term commitment and they'll have a high-quality lacrosse stick to keep whether they decide to continue playing or not.

If your player (boy or girl) enjoys the game and wants more lacrosse (we can almost guarantee they will!), they'll be able to stay and participate in the rest of the Fall Tune-up weekend sessions for no additional registration cost. Note: all participants that do the Fall Tune-ups must be a member of US Lacrosse (for insurance purposes - about $30) and also purchase basic lacrosse gear. Rental and discount purchase opportunities of the equipment will be available - keep visiting our club web site for updated information. Kids born after 9/1/2013 will be age ineligible to play with the 8U teams in the spring (exceptions can be made with parent and coach approval), but we still encourage them to join our New Player Clinic, and will be setting up a special program for them - more information to follow.

Skills that will be covered include:

  • Passing

  • Catching

  • Cradling

  • Dodging

  • Ground Balls

Parents are welcome (and encouraged) to come and also learn the Boys and/or Girls games of Lacrosse. During the on-field time for the kids we will also conduct a basic information session for the parents.

Please bring water, tennis shoes or cleats, and athletic wear and a desire to learn Lacrosse!

IMPORTANT: PLEASE PRINT AND SIGN THIS WAIVER AND BRING TO THE CLINIC!
