We never want money to get in the way of kids playing sports, and so we have scholarships available for any player, or family who needs it. The scholarship process is kept completely private and is only known to the President and Treasurer. Please visit our Scholarship Page prior to registration for more details.

This year games will be played between approx Feb. 28th and May 17th. There will be NO GAMES played on the weekend before or after Spring Break (4/4, 4/5, 4/11, and 4/12), or on Mother's Day (5/10).
Most teams will have games scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays, but teams may have a couple "off days" throughout the season.
The number of games played varies based on the age division (older kids will probably play more games). The number of games will probably range between 10-12.
Our scheduling meeting takes place in early January. Game schedules will hopefully be made available by the last week in January.
Our Home Games are played at Cayetano (unless otherwise noted). Other teams we play against are Alameda, Berkeley, Delta Breeze, Diablo, Lamorinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Skyline and Walnut Creek.
We also occasionally like to branch out and play some of our neighbors in the South Bay, North Bay or Sacramento, but not every year.
We are excited to announce the return of our U6 division. Players who are 4, or 5 years old will have the option of registering for either the U6 or U8 team. U6 will have one, co-ed team that will serve as an intro to lacrosse. There will be no games with other clubs since no other clubs in our area are offering a similar program. Equipment will be provided by the club, and there will only be one practice a week. U8s will follow the standard practice schedule and play games with neighboring clubs. Our U6 program will have a shortened season running from early March - mid May. It will be up to you to decide where your child is physically and emotionally ready to play.
We need to begin assembling our coaching staff for the 2026 Spring Season. We have always relied on a volunteer coaching staff and this year will be no different. We are looking for a Head Coach, Assistant Head Coach, and Assistant Coaches for every team. By volunteering now, you will be given access to resources on how to build practice plans, have the ability to provide input into the game schedule, and ensure that your player’s team will have a coach. After the season begins, a percentage of your child’s registration will be refunded back to you depending on the level of Coach you volunteer for.
Prior coaching and/or lacrosse experience is a plus, but not necessary. There are plenty of online training courses and other resources available for every level of coaching. We will be hosting a coaching clinic on January 10th for all of our new and returning coaches. We would love to get some new, energetic coaches out on the field, so please consider volunteering.
Do not assume “someone else” will step up. YOU ARE that someone else.
For any questions you may have, or to volunteer, please reach out to any of the following:
Sean Carscadden, boys@phantomlacrosse.org
Crystal Braswell, girls@phantomlacrosse.org
Adam Halsey, president@phantomlacrosse.org
We are excited to introduce a NEW Uniform this year. All players (except U6) must order a new uniform for the season. This year uniforms WILL BE included in your registration. Additional, optional pieces, will be available for purchase if desired. Please make sure you carefully read the Uniforms section to ensure you are getting the correct sizes. There will not be an additional opportunity to purchase a uniform.
Uniform numbers will be granted on a first come, first serve basis. Please register early to increase your chances of getting the number you want.
Cayetano Park is the primary field of the Livermore Phantoms. All Home Games are played at Cayetano.
This season, we anticipate having two teams at both the Boys’ U12 and Boys’ U14 levels. In alignment with our league’s recommendations, when two teams exist at the upper age groups, we are asked to hold a skills assessment to assist in team formation.
To be clear:
These are not tryouts. Every registered player will be placed on a team.
The assessment is to help us equitably form teams based on skill level and team needs.
Our league has two competitive divisions:
Elite (Upper Division)
Premiere (Base Division)
This assessment will help us determine whether we have the roster depth to form an Elite team at the U12 and U14 levels, or not.
If you have any questions not covered in the FAQ below, please contact:
Sean Carscadden – boys@phantomlacrosse.org
Adam Halsey – president@phantomlacrosse.org
Q: When is the assessment?
Monday, January 12th - 4:30 - 6PM
Tuesday, January 13th - 6 - 7:30PM
Location - Cayetano Park
Q: Do I have to be registered for the season to attend the skills assessment?
Yes. You must be registered for the season to attend the assessment. This is primarily for insurance purposes, but also to ensure our coaches are only evaluating kids who are actually going to be playing this year.
Q: Do I have to attend the skills assessment?
No, but if you do not attend, you will automatically be placed on the Premiere team. If you want to Age Up your player, they must attend at least one day.
Q: Do I have to attend both days?
No. While we encourage attendance on both days (for a more complete evaluation), only one day is needed.
Q: What if I don’t want to be on the Elite team?
No problem! No player will be forced to “play up.”
That said, we still encourage you to attend so we can assess overall team balance and readiness.
Q: I really want to play with my friend, but one of us didn’t make Elite.
We understand, but we won’t move players up just to keep friends together.
If playing together is a priority, both players must agree to play on the Premiere team.
Q: Should I still attend if this is my first season?
Definitely! Even if this is your first season, we want to get an idea of where the overall skill level is for all the kids.
Q: How will teams be created?
Teams will be as evenly sized as possible.
However, balance will be based on positional needs and overall team composition—not just skill level.
(Example: If the top 7 players are all attackmen, they can’t all be placed on one team.)
Q: How will players be assessed?
We are committed to making the process as fair and impartial as possible.
We will be using a standard evaluation form.
We will share the assessment criteria in advance so players know what to expect.
Q: Will team rosters change during the season?
Our goal is that once teams are formed, they will stay the same.
However, if one team is short players for a game, we may ask players from the other team to fill in temporarily.
Q: Are there additional expectations for Elite team players?
Yes. Elite team members must:
If you expect to miss practices regularly, you will be placed on the Premiere team.
Q: Will the Elite team travel more for games?
Possibly. To find suitable competition, we may schedule games against teams in the South Bay, North Bay, or Sacramento areas, depending on how many Elite teams exist in our league.
Q: Why not just create two even teams?
Great question. As a recreational club, that seems like the obvious choice.
However, our past experience shows that even-ish teams can hinder both development and enjoyment.
Practices may be too advanced for some players, or too basic for others. This leads to frustration for players, coaches, and parents.
By forming teams based on readiness, we can provide the best possible experience for all players—challenging those who are ready and supporting those who are still developing.
